The Federación Almeriense de Asociaciones de Personas con Discapacidad (FAAM, a local disabled people organization) has checked in June and July accessible facilities in 25 beaches. The information obtained is available in the "GUÍA DE ACCESIBILIDAD A LAS PLAYAS DE LA PROVINCIA DE ALMERÍA 2008", which is available on their website.
A first section is informing about the minimum requirements, according to the Andalousian Accessibility Regulations, an "accessible point to the beach" should offer and what were the non-compliances to this law they have found, unfortunately resulting in non usability of accessible facilities (as steps to enter adapted toilets, etc.)
A list of contents is where you are going to find the beaches, which have been organized by their geographical location along the coastline (from west to east and then by municipalities).
Comprehensive written information (available only in Spanish, but easy to understand) includes usability conditions and availability of: reserved parking areas, ramps, adapted showers and toilets, adapted resting areas, amphy buggies and crutches, assisting staff/volunteers and signalling. Pictures of most of these facilities have been taken during July and have been included in the Guide.
